Old City 24 spots The historic district between the Castillo de San Marcos and the Bridge of Lions: the pedestrian blocks of St. George Street, the brick lane of galleries on Aviles Street, and the bayfront along Avenida Menendez. The densest run of restaurants and bars in the city, many of them in buildings with a century or two behind them. Uptown 8 spots San Marco Avenue north of the City Gate, where the foot traffic thins out and the Victorian houses take over, running up past the Fountain of Youth to the roundabout at the Vilano Bridge. Lincolnville 6 spots Founded after the Civil War by freed African Americans and central to the city's civil rights history, with the Victorian houses of Bridge Street and, along Riberia Street, the old ice plant and the marinas on the San Sebastian River. West Augustine 4 spots West of the San Sebastian River along West King Street and State Road 16, where several of the city's vegetarian kitchens and breakfast rooms have landed, and where the food trucks park at Marina Munch. Davis Shores 3 spots The first stretch of Anastasia Island once you cross the Bridge of Lions, where a 1965 fried shrimp institution, an arcade bar and a speakeasy sit a few blocks apart.
