The MICHELIN Guide's Florida selection covered the whole state for the first time in 2026, and four St. Augustine restaurants made it. Two hold a Bib Gourmand, the guide's award for good cooking at a friendly price. Two are Recommended, which means the inspectors think the room is worth your time without giving it a Bib or a star. Nobody in the city has a star.
The two Bib Gourmands: Bar Citra is a coffee counter, bakery and natural wine bar out on US-1 rather than in the historic core, and it posts the award badge on its own site. Sunday Gathering Table is a sourdough bakehouse on San Marco Avenue, breakfast and lunch, Tuesday through Sunday. MICHELIN lists it as plain Sunday.
The two Recommended rooms: Lotus Noodle Bar on Grove Avenue, where chef-owner Barry Honan cooked at the Michelin-starred Le Bernardin in New York before running pop-ups here and settling in 2023; it is reservation only. Asado Life cooks Argentine live fire on the San Sebastian River where the shrimp boats dock.
One thing worth knowing, because the internet gets it wrong: several roundups group all four under a single headline, and search engines will tell you all four are Bib Gourmands. They are not. Two are, two are Recommended, and the difference is the whole point of the guide. We keep the designation and the year on each venue page, and we take it off if a venue stops holding it.
