Saint St. Augustine ... Come for the Courtyard, Stay for Dinner

A flower-filled courtyard and upstairs bay views make Saint a tempting night out. Find the table you want, explore the Italian menu and see what dinner could cost.

A courtyard full of palms and flowers. Blue-and-yellow tile on the stairs. An upstairs table looking out across the Matanzas bayfront. Saint gives you plenty to look forward to before the pasta arrives.

This is a good place to plan a date or a celebration around the room itself. The useful decision is where you want to sit: tucked into the courtyard or upstairs with the view.

Courtyard or rooftop ... where should you sit at Saint?

The courtyard is the place for the enclosed garden feel: white walls, palms and flowering vines around tables beneath wood pergolas. The photographs show an open, bright space with the bar close by. Upstairs, the attraction changes to the city and the water. Saint says its second-floor balcony and rooftop patio overlook the bayfront, with the lighthouse visible on a clear day.

Those are different experiences inside the same restaurant. A standard dining-room reservation does not promise a balcony table. Resy displayed dining-room slots when we checked; if the view is the reason for the visit, confirm the seating area with Saint before making a special-occasion booking.

The official gallery and the restaurant's own Instagram give you a better feel for the rooms than a star rating. This post shows the tiled stairs and courtyard details.

Saint's Italian menu and what dinner costs

The pasta is part of the draw, with house-made noodles featured on Saint's own pages. Short-rib bolognese comes with pappardelle. Butternut squash ravioli brings a sweeter option, while seafood bucatini makes room for shellfish. You can also make dinner about a steak or a whole roasted branzino.

Here is a useful sample from the menus Saint was publishing on October 28, 2026. Prices are per item before tax and tip; the linked menu remains the place to check for changes.

Menu choiceListed priceWhy it might be your order
Lobster arancini$26A rich starter with smoked mozzarella and harissa aioli.
Cacio e pepe$26The cheese-and-pepper pasta choice.
Short-rib bolognese$39Pappardelle with a hearty meat sauce.
Seafood bucatini$48A shellfish-focused main course.
Gabagool cocktail$23Vodka with lemon sorbet and prosecco.
Limoncello cheesecake$12A lemon finish with blueberry compote.

A dinner for two can climb quickly once you add cocktails. One shared lobster arancini, two short-rib pastas and two Gabagools total $150 before tax and tip. That is an example built from the menu, not a set meal or a minimum spend.

The dinner and brunch menus state that parties of six or more receive a 20% gratuity. Gluten-free pasta is available on request. That tells you an option exists; it does not establish how the kitchen handles cross-contact.

Brunch at Saint has an Italian streak

Brunch brings blueberry pancakes with whipped lemon mascarpone and eggs Benedict on toasted focaccia. There is also gnocchi with sausage gravy, plus a mortadella sandwich that nods to Anthony Bourdain. It is a reason to see the courtyard in daylight.

The current brunch menu prints 11 AM to 3 PM. Saint's August 29 Instagram post confirms that window for Sunday. The menu does not name every brunch day, and the tourism listing gives a different start time, so check the date you intend to book instead of assuming brunch runs whenever the restaurant is open.

The old house inside Saint's new restaurant

Saint's charm has a real St. Augustine connection. The project preserved the Espinosa-Sanchez House, an eighteenth-century coquina building incorporated into the restaurant. Coquina is the local shell-stone you see throughout the city's historic architecture.

RPC, the project's contractor, describes working around the old building and its historic features while adding the modern restaurant spaces. Saint now uses the Espinosa House for private dining.

The completed project was designed by Cronk Duch Architecture / CD+urban studio, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record's November 2025 construction feature. A soft opening preceded the January 3 and 4, 2025 grand opening.

That mix of an old house and a new dining space earns Saint a place beside the rooms in our guide to eating inside St. Augustine's history. It belongs to River Restaurant Group, which also runs River & Fort in St. Augustine and River & Post in Jacksonville.

Plan your Saint visit

  • Address: 44 Avenida Menendez in the Old City, along the bayfront.
  • Hours: Monday and Tuesday, 4 PM to 10 PM; Wednesday through Sunday, 11 AM to 10 PM, according to Saint's own FAQ.
  • Reservations: Book through Resy. For a particular seating area, contact (904) 869-9440.
  • What to wear: Visit St. Augustine suggests dressy casual. We did not find a detailed house dress code.
  • Children: the printed menu has a separate selection for ages 12 and under. This is a sit-down restaurant, with no verified play space.
  • Dogs: Saint permits pets in the first-floor courtyard. Pets cannot go inside or onto the upper rooftops; service animals are excepted.
  • Parking: Saint points guests toward downtown street parking and the garage at 1 Cordova Street. Use its parking map and current posted city rates; we did not verify dedicated restaurant parking or valet.
  • Takeout: Saint's FAQ currently says takeout meals are unavailable because of business volume.

Saint has a live-music page, but it still displayed September dates when checked in late October. We have not treated that as a current weekly schedule. We also found no current, timed happy-hour offer to add to the Bars board.

Researched October 28, 2026 from Saint's own website and menus, its public Instagram feed, and its active Resy listing, with the dated local reporting linked above. This is a researched visit guide, not a claim that BellyUp! has eaten here. Current social activity was checked through Saint's embedded posts dated September 18 and 19; Resy showed same-day dinner slots.
